Bad Breath?
If you can't seem to get rid of bad breath, chances are gum disease or tooth decay may be the cause. Only a thorough evaluation of your dental health and oral hygiene techniques can determine if this is the source of your problem (other sources include your tongue, sinuses, and stomache or gastrointestinal tract). Did you know that many advertised mouthwashes contain alcohol that cause dry mouth and contribute to bad breath?
              Bleeding Gums?
Persistent bleeding may mean you have the early stages of gum disease or gingivitis. Inflamed, red and swollen gums are your body’s natural defense against bacteria left on your teeth and under your gums. If left untreated, this reaction can cause permanent damage to the surrounding tissues and bone leading to the irreversible periodontitisPersistent bleeding may mean you have the early stages of gum disease or gingivitis. Sensitive teeth?
This can occur for a variety of reasons. When gum disease is present, your gums recede or pull away from the teeth causing the roots to be exposed. Since these roots had not been previously exposed to the normal oral environment, hot and cold drinks and food, air, etc., your teeth will react sending a message of pain. For more information about the dental danger signs, please ask us!
                  Loose teeth?
This can be caused by a hard impact from trauma, a hard bite, grinding your teeth, or, from gum disease…. either way it’s a serious problem. When your teeth become loose due to gum disease, it often means the tissue or ligament that holds the roots to the bone is becoming infected. This can indicate that you have a more serious form of the disease. Remember, periodontal disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss! And tooth loss can affect other parts of your life including your overall health (inability to chew properly or eat nutritious foods), your career and social life, and your self esteem (it affects your appearance and your ability to speak clearly).
